Changing Your Background Layer.
-Background Layer
-Double Click
-Rename
This is basically how Photoshop's layers palette will look now after you've brought in an image from scanning and have done a crop to it. It defaults with one layer called the 'background' layer and this layer is pretty much locked until we do something with it.
If you double click the actual text that says 'background' you can change this layer and rename it to something more appropriate for the workflow process.
Type in 'original' and then click enter/return. Now you will know for the future that this is the original base layer. This is how it came in from the scan and has been saved with it's original crop. You can always refer back to this layer as your starting point if necessary down the road.
