Sharpening with Camera Raw
-Detail Dialog
-Amount
-Sliders
While in Camera Raw, navigate to the left panel and find the 3rd tab over which is the Detail tab. Noticing at the bottom of this dialog, we're suggested to zoom into our image to 100% before making any adjustments. Go ahead and do that by using the zoom tool or hotkeys Apple/Command and +. Next, using the space bar (hand tool), navigate to a part of your image by draggin it around so that you can find an area where you are most concerned about sharpening.
Next, adjust the amount slider to the right to bring in more sharpening. You can bring it way up to see how it effects your image. Toggle the preview button at the top of Camera Raw in order to see a before an after.
Now for the amount, you usually set it between 25 and 50 as a good starting point depending on the image and simply move it slightly to your liking. We don't want to sharpen too much here in Camera Raw on the input, because most of our sharpening can be done in photoshop on the output. The Radius slider is typically left where it sits at 1.0. The Detail slider is kind of a tolerance slider and can be adjusted slightly to your liking.
